ABOUT US

When a student is starving during back-to-back classes, realizes they forgot their sandwich at home, or just does not want another overpriced bowl of noodles, Yo Mama is there to take care of them. In a recent poll of university students, 80% identify not having enough time as a main reason for skipping meals. Over a third of the students skip meals due to the expense. While saving time and money, skipping meals can negatively impact students’ brains and bodies. A review of research articles in Current Nutrition & Food Science, summarizes that missing breakfast negatively impacts academics, cognitive function, overall health, and mental health (Murphy, 2007). An article in the research journal, Obesity, suggests that irregular meal patterns negatively affect metabolism and insulin resistance (Sierra-Johnson et al, 2008). Yo Mama Packed It! is a supply chain innovation, providing college students a meal in those ten minutes between classes. Buying a “lunch bag subscription” for the entire week (up to ten meals) can also alleviate the stress of planning trips to the grocery store and the panic of frantic foraging in snack machines. For those who only need a single meal at a time, 30 minutes after placing an online order, Yo Mama can be waiting outside a university building with quality, bagged, low cost breakfast or lunch, ready to get those brain juices flowing.
