ABOUT US

1. UF Children’s Hope India (UF CHI) aims to combat poverty in India by empowering homeless children and their families with the powerful tools of education and international trade. We are committed to developing our program to support parents of impoverished families through microfinance and support their children with non-formal education.

2. In India, over 75 million children suffer from malnutrition, 74.4 million children do not have access to education and a quarter of the population earn below the poverty threshold of $.40 a day. Further, in Delhi alone there are more than 100,000 orphans. Poverty in India is extreme and simply looms too large to be overlooked.

3. UF CHI’s social business gives impoverished women the ability to learn valuable life skills and make a living. Besides extensive training and competitive salary, the women are also given the opportunity to take out microloans in the future. Without something like this in place many would be forced to live in extreme poverty with little hope of breaking the cycle. The business also has the added benefit of supporting itself: all of the revenue goes back to the business for expansion and new initiatives.
