Employer: IBM
Position: TCP/IP Admin. /Web Designer/Nameserver Support
Description: Domain name server support, TCP/IP Administrator, worked with router team, knowledgeable of LAN/WAN, designed web interface (ITOOLS) for internal IBM users to receive IP addresses DNS or DHCP addresses for the US and Canada on OS/2, Windows, AIX, HP, and Sun Solaris using HTML, CGI, and Perl. Tested this application before installing for usage and as changes were made. On going test procedure. This application would read the Call up database using the customer’s serial number to get information about the user, and then read the subnet database to make sure the IP address was not in use. Wrote a cron job using Korn shell to run weekly to check for usage of IP address, if address had not been used within the last 6 weeks a note was sent to the user and their manager, it not heard from either or the address had not been used within 2 more weeks the address would be deleted for usage and put back into the unused subnet database.

Position: Programmer/Forms Designer
Description: Designed, supported, tested and maintained ECFORMS which is used internally to receive SNA addresses, request telephone service, request TCP/IP addresses (wrote a C++ script to also receive IP addresses) on an AIX workstation. Black box testing. Setup a SQL server to handle the SNA addresses. Helped to write the code to read the callup database to get information on the SNA user and check the SNA database to make sure the address was not in use before giving it out to a customer. Wrote the code to read the call up database to get information on the IP user and check the IP database to make sure the address was not in use, for static IP addresses. Tested these application as changes were made. On-going testing process. Responsible for on-line documentation of the processes used for ECFORMS.

Used Excel, Access, and SQL for integrations, creating databases, reading databases, from Access, and Excel.

Description: Level 2 Support of IBM’s Web sphere and HTTP Servers. Supported Customers with installation of Web sphere and HTTP Servers. Solved problems using core dumps, following the flow of the process from the beginning of a purchase to the end to find out if the error was in their installation process, there Web sphere Server, the HTTP Server, in HTML. XML, servlets, jsp’s, jsv’s, jsw’s, JAVA Core files, VA JAVA, DB2 or Oracle. Black box testing. At times had to recreate the customer’s problems on WIN NT, Sun Solaris, AIX, HP or Linux. Tested customer’s code. Had to test with IBM’s HTTP Server, IIE, Netscape Enterprise and Apache as we had patches for these servers. It depended on what the customer was using.

Worked with Research and Development on this process. Lead Liaison between support and Developers.
