  • 1. Welcome back!

We hope that you have all had a fantastic summer and reloaded your entrepreneurial batteries. Venture Cup 09/10 is now officially launched and we are happy to announce that we have reinvented ourselves and the competition to make it easier for all budding entrepreneurs to win money for their ideas.

    Good competition!

    The Venture Cup team

  • 2. We’ve made it easier for you to win money for your idea in Venture Cup

We have taken our own medicine and reinvented our competition-concept with the introduction of 5 new industry-specific categories.

After getting feedback from participants, partners and sponsors, we have chosen to split our competition into 5 new industry-specific categories: “Lifescience & Medtech”, “Services”, “Software”, “Applied Technology” and Cleantech”. Now, ideas and business plans will only compete against others within the same category. This will allow a more level playing field in the competition and make it easier for you to win money for your idea.

The Venture Cup Idea Competition running this fall will award 25,000 DKK to the best business idea of each of the five categories.

You can participate by submitting a summary of up to 3 pages about your idea by November 30th.

Read more about the categories and their criteria.

  • 3. Entrepreneurial training programme

From September to June we offer an entrepreneurial training programme which is free to attend for all. This programme is designed to build your skills as an entrepreneur, and cover business skills such as market analysis, investor pitching, finance, marketing, team as well as exposing you to a valuable entrepreneurial network with successful entrepreneurs and other likeminded people, often in the same position as yourself.

Participating in the entrepreneurial training programme will give you the practical skills that can help you move forward with your idea:

    • Generate and develop an idea
    • Prepare your idea for the market
    • Display your idea

Attending these three workshops will award you a Venture Cup diploma.

Check the dates for your university and register right away.

  • 6. Shhh... Top secret: Venture Cup wants you in our video on Thursday

On Thursday (24/9) we are shooting a promotional video for Venture Cup and we would really like you to be in it!

    Key info:
    18.00 – 20.00 Thursday 24 September
We meet at the CBS entrance directly in front of Frederiksberg Centre.
Dress code: Secret agent clothing (black clothing or even better, a black suit), dark sunglasses and headset if possible

We would like you to play a role of a secret agent. Therefore we would like you to dress up as a spy or an agent. All of Venture Cups staff will be there in spy clothes too, so you won’t be the only one! You won’t have to speak in the video (which will be silent with background music) and you won’t have to act by yourself, but just be a part of the agent group. So not very scary! The video is a 3 min underground-style hand-held video and we have a film crew coming to shoot it.

We meet at 18.00 (sharp, agent style) for a briefing and beer and continue to shoot the video for the next hour to 1 ½ hour. All of it is shot around CBS.

Why in the world is Venture Cup doing this?
Apart from the fact that it will be great fun (!) this top secret video will show Venture Cup handing over the trophy won by CBS at our final in June to CBS’ principal. To make it a little more interesting than just walking up and giving it to him we decided to shoot a cool film about it, which we can use to promote Venture Cup.

    Can I tell my friends?
Close friends who are absolutely trustworthy may be privy to this information. And they are welcome to come if they dress up as secret agents too...

    Do I have to register?
Not really, but we would like to have an idea about how many beers to bring, so if you have the chance to register we’d be grateful. You can sign up here.

What you are expecting the video will look like?
Tons of pictures of secret agents as recent promo event at CBS on our facebook page (remember to join us if you haven’t already!)

We are so looking forward to seeing you. It will be loads of fun!
