    This year Venture Cup set a new record in all these areas
    - Number of entries in the competition, with 63 businesses plans
    - Amount of participants, with a total of 201 participants
    - Female representatiot, with women represented in more than 50% of the teams.

    The universities are also feeling the increase in participants. The number of business plans from CBS increased with almost 20%, while the biggest increase was to be found at SDU with an increase of 75%.

    The most popular industry this year was Software & Web Services with 37% of the total number of business plans.

  • 2. The Venture Cup Final 2009

    Venture Cups finale will be held at Børsen (The Old Stock Exchange) in Copenhagen on the 4th of June.

    Our jury of investors, managers and entrepreneurs are right now evaluating and giving feedback to all the business plans we received. They will select the top 10 teams that will be invited to pitch their idea at the final in Copenhagen.

    The 10 nominated teams will be announced on May 18th.

  • 3. The Kauffman Global Scholarship Program

    If you are a student at a Danish university or newly educated and have a project that you would like to realize, the Kauffman scholarship could be your chance.

    The scholarship allows you a stay six months in America, where you will visit prestigious universities and enxperience three months of internship in an American company, which will support you in the development of your project.

  • 4. Friday Drinks at Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship

    This Friday (15th of May) Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship is celebrating the arrival of summer, we hope.

  • 5. Cambridge Technology Ventures Conference

    Venture Cups partner, Cambridge University Technology & Enterprise Club (CUTEC), presents its annual conference: Technology Ventures Conference 2009.

    This is a great opportunity of networking with high profile entrepreneurs and tech investors from the UK. Keynote speakers will be Marissa Mayer, Google Vice President of Search Products and Iqbal Quadir, Founder of GrameenPhone.

    Since the conference’s launch in 2004 it has developed into one of the world’s largest student-run entrepreneurial events, with more than 280 delegates from Europe, the US and Asia.

    This will take place at Cambridge, June 11, at the Corn Exchange, Cambridge, UK.
